Itinerary

The magic of the northern forests of Scandinavia cannot be denied and the Lillomarka forest in Oslo is a prime example. Throw on your hiking shoes and let us show you what makes this area so special! Our trip starts in central Oslo. We will take the metro line 4/5 to Nydalen Station, where we will then switch to a bus that brings us to the edge of the forest at Solemskogen. It will take a total of about 30 minutes to reach the trailhead and then we will be ready to go! Lillomarka, located in the northern part of Oslo, Norway, is a tranquil forest area known for its natural beauty and accessibility. As part of the larger Nordmarka region, it offers a peaceful retreat with dense forests, serene lakes, and a variety of wildlife, all within a short distance from the city center. The area features numerous trails for hiking, cycling, and cross-country skiing, making it a year-round destination for outdoor activities.

Lillomarka Wilderness Area

We will wind our way through this beautiful forest, passing small lakes and listening for singing birds, all the while spotting for trolls (When In Norway right?) . Lillomarka is also home to historic remnants of old farmsteads, adding cultural depth to the landscape. With its diverse ecosystem, recreational facilities like the Lilloseter mountain lodge, and sustainable management efforts, Lillomarka stands as a cherished part of Oslo's natural heritage, offering a perfect blend of adventure and tranquillity. Eventually we return to civilization and make our way back to the metro and finish our trip at Jernbanetorget, where we started. This tour requires minimum 2 people. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/tour or a full refund.
