Lisbon has been displaying art for centuries. From the tiles present in almost every building to the sculptures and murals present in every corner, the Portuguese capital is one of the best cities in the world for those who love Art. On this tour, you will discover Lisbon in a way that you never saw or heard of before as we are going to explore not only the old town but also the industrial area of Xabregas, Chelas, and Marvila neighborhoods. You will understand why the art scene is so important in the city, who are the artists making their name locally and internationally, and the social/cultural aspects involved.
Last but not least: you will be guided on an electric tuk-tuk painted by one of the most remarkable Portuguese street artists, Ozearv, and we will also see his art around! At the end of the tour, an old building transformed into an art gallery, restaurants, and bars will wait for us for a little snack and drinks if you would like that! This place is 8 Marvila.
We will start the tour here, in Mouraria neighborhood, where one of our guides will give you the context behind the Street Art in Lisbon. After that, the tuk-tuk ride starts around the Old Town (Mouraria and Graça), the neighborhoods of Xabregas, Chelas and Marvila
After seeing couple of arts in Mouraria we go to Graça to see "Universal Personhood" by Shepard Fairey, aka Obey Giant and Vihls
here we will enter another Lisbon portal that will lead us to Estrada de Chelas, a colorful road entirely dedicated to street art. Names like Vihls, Bordalo ii, and Ozerav are present. Is also where Bordalo ii has his studio and if we are lucky we can find him and have a chat!
You will make your own way to the meeting points
