Querétaro: Kayaking in the Sierra Gorda

We will kayak down the Santa María River in the Sierra Gorda of Querétaro. After meeting at the meeting point we will go to the river, where we will begin with a talk about the activity and the river we will descend. We will give you a brief lesson on how to handle the kayak to enjoy the river in a safe and fun way (the activity is done in a section of the river with category 1 rapids, suitable for people without experience and the type of kayak we will use is an open-top kayak). After the lesson we will put on the equipment and practice using the kayak. Once we are ready we will begin the descent; we will pass through pools where the water is calm and we will have the opportunity to observe the landscape, flora and fauna of the river; between each pool is the most exciting part of the descent: The Rapids; there we will paddle practicing what we have learned, enjoying the waves, the speed of the water and the adrenaline. Halfway through the journey we will stop for a while to swim and relax in a pool surrounded by abundant nature. The descent ends where the Ayutla River joins the Santa María River.
