Snæfellsnes peninsula has some of Iceland’s best sights, with the beauty and mystique inspiring world-famous novels, enchanting its visitors every day. Enormous lava fields, mountains that seem to rise from the ocean, endless bays and beaches, fjords, and tasting delicious local food. This is a remarkable day trip that’ll leave you in awe. You will stop for views over Selvallavatn lake and lava fields on our way to Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall and Mt. Kirkjufell, the famous arrow shaped mountain. Next is the beautiful black sand beach of Djúpalónssandur, with its surrounding moss covered lava fields making for one stunning stretch of coast. We take the short drive to the small fishing town of Arnarstapi with its impressive basalt cliffs plunging into the ocean. You will make a stop at the iconic black church of Búðakirkja, which is a delight to photograph, before arriving in Reykjavík in time for a late dinner.
