Yungang Grottoes is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for spectacular rock carvings, and the Hanging Monastery, an ornate temple built into a cliff.

Your English speaking driver will pick you up at 6:00am from your centrally located Beijing hotel and transfer to Datong.
Arrive around 10:00am and two hours visiting the Hanging Monastery, one of China's most unique and remarkable feats of wooden architecture. The monastery is also the only one built in honor to Sakyamuni, Laozi, and Confucius, who are founders of Buddism, Taoism and Confucianism respectively.
After enjoy some local food in Datong, such as sliced noodles, you will visit the Yungang grottoes,a World Cultural Heritage Site since 2001. It is considered by UNESCO as a "masterpiece of early Chinese Buddhist cave art and represent the successful fusion of Buddhist religious symbolic art from south and central Asia with Chinese cultural traditions, starting in the 5th century CE under Imperial auspices. The site is composed of 252 grottoes with more than 51,000 Buddha statues and statuettes.
