We will pass through the Plaine des Cafres, a large plateau of altitude with green pastures, then through the forest of the volcano and its mysterious atmosphere. Let’s take a break at the Rivière des Remparts to admire its vertiginous cliffs. We will then cross the Plain of Sands: a gigantic sandy expanse like we could find on Mars. Then we finally stand in front of the Piton de la Fournaise volcano, one of the most active volcanoes in the world! On the way back, we will visit the Volcano City to understand everything about volcanism in Réunion.

We will first cross the Plain of Cafres, a green space of tranquility, in the middle of cows and meadows.
Nez de Boeuf
A must-see stop at the Nose of Beef to admire the magnificent panorama of the immense valley of the "River of the Ramparts".
We will stop at Commerson Crater: it is an ancient volcanic crater created 2000 years ago!
