The Lake Ohrid region is home to one of the world’s oldest lakes and is one of the most unique sources of biodiversity in Europe. The convergence of distinctive natural values with the quality and diversity of its cultural, material and spiritual heritage makes this region truly unique.

Leave from Tirana at about 07.30 towards border with North Macedonia 120 km, 2.5 hours driving. Arrive in Struga a town in North Macedonia. The main atraction is Black Drin River. It flows out of Lake Ohrid in Struga, It is 149 km long. The Ohrid trout, which is a form of salmon, can also be found in parts of the river at times.
Our next stop will be the town of Ohrid. We will visit the Monastery of St Naum, Church of St. John at Kaneo by the lake, Samoil’s Fortress.
We will continue our visit by driving along the lake towards Pogradec, and before passing the border we will visit Monastery of Sveti Naum.
