Join our cooking class and enjoy a unique experience while visiting Marrakech. This 4-hour experience will not only improve your cooking skills but also teach you more about Moroccan culinary traditions and history.
Before the cooking starts, we will have a tour of a local market to buy the vegetables and all the ingredients we need to cook. Afterwards, we will have a fresh mint tea while we get to know each other.
The next step is to start the cooking process, where travelers learn new techniques for peeling, chopping, and seasoning the tagines with the right spices, as our grandmothers and mothers do at home. While we are cooking, we will talk in depth about Moroccan cultures, traditions, and history.
Travelers will work together as one team to make different dishes, and this helps them learn more dishes than just one specific dish by using different spices and Ras El Hanout.
At the end, it is time to taste and eat what you have cooked.
Local market tour: Once we meet, we do a short tour of a local market to buy ingredients we are going to use for cooking.
Group class: You will join other people to form a small group.
Duration: 4 hours: This class lasts 4 hours starting from 10am
Lunch or dinner: You eat what you have cooked for lunch or dinner.
After meeting at the pharmacy, we will have a short tour of a local market near our house to buy vegetables and all the other ingredients we will need to cook. Then we go to our house, which is situated a few steps from the market. We first teach you how to make fresh mint tea and have it together while we get to know each other. Next, we start cooking by starting with the dish that takes the most time to cook because we will put it on fire while making other dishes. We will all work together as one team to make different dishes, and this helps you learn more than just a specific dish. We will normally be making different tagines. It could be with veggies, chicken, beef, or meat balls. We also make couscous at our workshop, but it would be better if you had specified that before the cooking class. We can also be flexible with your food restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc.) Once everything is cooked, you will have time to eat and enjoy what you have cooked, and after leaving, we will share recipes with you for the dishes we make and many other dishes. Kids are allowed in our cooking class
