Maropeng Visitor Centre
The Maropeng Visitor Centre is an award-winning, world-class exhibition, focusing on the development of humans and our ancestors over the past few million years. This self-guided, interactive tour allows you to take all the time you need to ponder humanity’s fascinating origin story. *Travel time from Sandton is around 45 to 60 minutes. Travel time between Maropeng and the Sterkfontein caves will be around 10 to 15 minutes
Sterkfontein Cave
Sterkfontein is a set of limestone caves of special interest to paleo-anthropologists located in Gauteng province, about 40 kilometres northwest of Johannesburg, South Africa in the Muldersdrift area close to the town of Krugersdorp. The archaeological sites of Swartkrans and Kromdraai are in the same area. *Travel time back to your hotel will take around 45 to 60 minutes.
