Japan Bamboo Lantern Art making
The bamboo used for the experience is carefully selected by the craftsmen themselves from the local bamboo forests in Tottori. The bamboo is then dried for more than two years before being used for the experience.
Near the bamboo lantern workshop is the area of Sekigane, famous for "The Tale of the Princess Kaguya", which is a tale of a princess from the moon who is discovered as a baby inside the stalk of a glowing bamboo plant. Have a special experience in a place associated with bamboo.

What's included in Japan Bamboo Lantern Art making
(Subject to Option Inclusions)You can spend time with a master bamboo artist who will help you create your one-of-a-kind healing bamboo lantern. In this experience, you will be able to make bamboo lanterns by drilling holes in the bamboo according to your favorite design. You can freely choose your own design, or a master craftsman can give you a template. Step1：Learn about bamboo and bamboo lanterns. Step2：Select the size and thickness of bamboo you like. Step3：Consider what design of hole you want to drill in the bamboo. Step4：Drill a hole in the bamboo and draw a picture. Step5：Try inserting a light and see how it turns out. Step6：Finish up by sanding the bamboo lanterns.
Inclusions
- Materials and equipment for the experience will be provided. However, the lights to be installed inside the completed bamboo lanterns are sold separately.
- The lights to be installed inside the completed bamboo lanterns are sold at the workshop place. A single color LED light costs 2,000yen, and a multiple colors LED light costs 3,000yen.
