Hagia Sophia Mosque - Originally built as a Christian cathedral in the 6th century, the Hagia Sophia was later converted into a mosque during the Ottoman Empire and is now a museum. It is famous for its massive dome, intricate mosaics, and impressive size.
Hippoddrome - The Hippodrome was the center of Byzantine civic life and entertainment. It was built in the 3rd century and was used for chariot racing and other events. Today, visitors can see the obelisks and columns that still stand in the Hippodrome.
Basilica Cistern - Built in the 6th century, the Basilica Cistern is an underground water storage tank that was used to supply water to the city during the Byzantine period. Visitors can see the impressive columns and arches that support the cistern and walk along the dimly lit pathways.
