Bodh Gaya is a sacred Buddhist pilgrimage site where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree. The Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the main attraction, along with monasteries from various Buddhist nations.
Dungeshwari Caves (Mahakala Caves), located 12 km from Bodh Gaya, are where Buddha meditated for six years before enlightenment. These caves house small shrines and Buddha statues, marking an important prelude to his spiritual journey.
