Guqin is a plucked seven-string Chinese musical instrument of the zither family. It has more than 2000 years of history. Guqin had traditionally been favored by scholars and literati in ancient China. Although it was very popular in ancient Chinese daily life, most of the Chinese people are not familiar with Guqin nowadays, it is gradually returning to the public's vision since the appearance at the 2008 Olympic opening ceremony.
If you want to have a special experience besides sightseeing, local food tasting, etc when traveling in Chengdu, it's worthy to spend one hour for this typical Chinese traditional culture experience.
During the session, you will *learn about the history and development of Guqin *recognize a special Chinese musical notation-Jianzipu which is invented by a musician 1000 years ago. *learn some basic playing techniques of Guqin, and try to play a short song at final. Optionally, you can try Chinese traditional clothing, called the Hanfu, to fully experience the mood of ancient Chinese life style. The Hanfu is a type of robe worn over your clothes. and it makes for great pictures!
