Our two hosts will get all participants to help organize a Brazilian barbecue party. You'll explore world famous Brazilian cuts of meats like Picanha, Cupim and Fraldinha, while making two incredibly Brazilian side dishes that you will want to make it every barbecue: campaign sauce (a richer vinaigrette) and banana toasted farofa. We will also make bottomless caipirinhas and batida de coco (iced coconut licqueur). Our patio's kitchen area is covered so this event can go on even during rain.
Duration: 4 hours
Like many Brazilian parties, this will be an informal churrasco cooking class. The idea is to get the grill on while making new friends from Rio and abroad, and learning a few recipes you might just use at every party and barbecue for a long time. As soon as you arrive at our patio, we'll show you how to make caipirinhas. Lime first, then you try other fruits along the evening. Our goal will be to get everyone involved in helping make a Brazilian style churrasco (BBQ) party happen. Those curious about the churrasco techniques can hang and operate the grill, while those curious about the side dishes can learn from our culinary instructor. We'll teach how to make toasted farofa, buttered cassava, garlic bread and vinaigrette, all great company for the several cuts being grilled. If you don't like to cook but would rather sip on a drink, you can make caipirinhas and "batida de coco" while being the tropical jams DJ. Want a beer? We include 3 beers for each, in this package. Extra beers are sold separately. Don't like alcohol? No problem! We can make a few tropical fruit juices from scratch... just let us know in advance! Don't eat gluten? We can teach tapioca crepe!
