Itinerary

Monastery of St. Simeon

The Monastery of St. Simeon was founded in the 7th century by Coptic monks, the complex was rebuilt at least once before finally being abandoned in the 13th century. Within the walled complex there are remains of a church and other buildings. Then continue with the camels to the tombs of the Nobles.

Admission Ticket Not Included

Carved into the riverside cliffs at Kitchener's Island, the Tombs of the Nobles are the burial sites of Old and Middle Kingdom dignitaries from the ancient city of Swenet which stood on Elephantine Island and there are also burials from Roman times. After the visits you will be transferred back to your accommodation in Aswan.
