Made from massive limestone blocks and faced with polished granite, the temple is one of the best-preserved examples of Old Kingdom architecture.
The Sphinx: Ancient Guardian The Sphinx is a mythical creature with a lion’s body and a human head, symbolizing strength and wisdom. The most famous example is the Great Sphinx of Giza in Egypt, believed to have been built around 2500 BCE during Pharaoh Khafre's reign. It likely served as a guardian of sacred sites. In Greek mythology, the Sphinx was known for posing deadly riddles. Today, it remains a powerful symbol of ancient mystery and majesty.
