Jiufen & Shifen are the best spots for tourist to take a day trip from Taipei. Jiufen, it was a gold and coal mining town before. Drink a cup of Taiwanese tea at Tea House, one of famous iconic landmark in Jiufen, is the must! Shifen, another old town near from Taipei. You can wander on the old rail track and release own sky lanterns. Oh! Please mind that the old rail track is still working.
During Weekends & Holidays: There will be traffic control during weekends and holidays. All guests are required to take the Jiufen shuttle to Jiufen Old Street which only takes 10 minutes to arrive. Please prepare a Easycard with at least NT$30 value in it, or bring a total of NT$30 in cash (NT$15 for one way) for paying the shuttle bus ticket.
Please note that if the Shifen Waterfall suspension bridge is undergoing annual maintenance, an alternative route will be taken, which may require additional walking.
The street runs alongside active train tracks, lined with shops selling traditional snacks and souvenirs. It is a dream place where you can enjoy the sky lantern activity at your own expense. Write down your wishes on the sky lanterns and release it into the sky to have an unforgettable memories.
