Bwindi Gorillas. The Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is inhabited by a population of about 459 individual mountain gorillas (Gorilla beringei beringei), known as the Bwindi population, which makes up almost half of all the mountain gorillas in the world. Uganda is the country in Africa which has many gorilla individuals compared to Rwanda and Congo. Mountain gorillas in Uganda are found in two national parks Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The overall best time of the year to travel to Bwindi to locate mountain gorillas is during the dry season/months; June to September, December to February.
